PLEASE SEND ALL 2017-2018 SUBMISSIONS TO:
Submissions are officially closed for the 2017 edition of Grub Street.
Submittable will reopen May 20th.
Submission guidelines are as follows:
Anyone is welcome to submit. Please limit your submissions to five poems, two prose pieces, and five works of visual art per issue. Any submissions in excess of these limits will not be read, and only previously unpublished works will be considered for publication.
Please limit your word documents to .doc and .docx files, and please remove all identifiable information from your document (your name, email address, etc.).
Please submit one work per file. Do not submit group submissions (e.g. if you submit five poems, do not submit those five poems in one .doc or .docx file--create five separate submissions).
Visual art should be at least 4x6 inches and sent as a .png, .raw or high-quality .jpeg file type with at least 300 dpi and a file size of at least 1 MB.
Genre-specific submission guidelines can be accessed by clicking the appropriate +Show Guidelines option, and can also be found on the upload page after clicking Submit.
If you have not received a rejection or acceptance by March 7th, you may email us, but please refrain from doing so before then.
Grub Street prides itself on the quality of its publication. We ask for thoughtfulness in submission, and respectfully request that writers and artists send only their best work. Please take the time to ensure all indentifying language has been removed from any pieces you submit. If you would like to re-submit your work, or send new work to Grub Street, but have been rejected for the 2017 publication, we kindly ask that you wait to send your work until the next
academic year (Fall 2017/Spring 2018).
We look forward to receiving your work and wish you the best of luck in your literary and artistic endeavors.
It is assumed all submissions are original creations. Please credit your sources. Questions not addressed in these guidelines may be directed to us via email.
